Why is the name Ytalia
At Assisi, in one of the times of the Upper Basilica, Cimabue wrote at the end of 1200 "Ytalia" in the margins of a city representation, certainly Rome
: a very first statement of the existence of Italian civilization. With this "signage" Cimabue states that national boundaries are first artistic and political , and that national identity is made up of classical and humanistic culture, pagan beauty and Christian spirituality. Italy is still today The realm of art and beauty. For the artistic community Italian art - from Giotto to Piero della Francesca, from Michelangelo to Caravaggio, and from these to the Futurists and beyond - he has been a school, model for the Whole world <50, because in our artworks we could appreciate the perfect balance of classicity and anti-clarity, eclecticism, purism, invention and quotation, immanence and transcendence.
