Palazzo Strozzi, the great retrospective on Marina Abramović

Palazzo Strozzi will host from 21 September 2018 to 20 January 2019, a great retrospective with over 100 works, dedicated to Marina Abramović, one of the most well-known and controversial artists of contemporary art who uses his body as a means of communication.
Since the 1960s, it has been known as the "Grandmother of performance art". One of her most famous and emotionally impressive works is "The Artist is present" when the artist spent seven hours a day for three months sitting for a blank chair in the MOMA in New York waiting for someone who wants to confront her, get involved. At the performance, surprised Ulay, a German artist and his companion of work and life for about twelve years between 1976 and 1989, a very strong moment.
The exhibition at Palazzo Strozzi will give Florentine and tourists the opportunity to discover the lesser-known works and the beginnings of the Serbian artist.
